Boiler

An appliance that performs a controlled burn of fossil fuel, and then transfers the heat created to water.

Renewables

Renewables is the generic term for technologies that use natural and naturally replenished resources, such as heat from the sun, wind or water, to satisfy domestic hot water and space heating requirements.

SEDBUK stands for 'Seasonal Efficiency of a Domestic Boiler in the UK', and provides a fair comparison of the energy performance of different boilers.

Solar

Solar is the technology that harnesses the free power of the sun to heat solar panels on the roof and turns this renewable energy into a heat source to create hot water for the home.
