Prepare for winter with Condensate Trace Heating Kits from Multifit

Multifit Condensate Trace Heating KitNow's the time to prepare for sub-zero temperatures with the new Condensate Trace Heater Kit from Multifit.  Compatible with all makes of condensing boiler, it can be retro-fitted and is easy to install where external condensate pipes occur.  For the householder it is an effective and economical way to protect their boiler's condensate lines from freezing, which was a major cause of boiler breakdowns during the extreme weather conditions last winter.

Unprecedented low temperatures led to a record number of call-outs for boiler engineers to attend to frozen condensate pipes.  The problems arose where the condensate pipe had been installed externally to discharge into a suitable drain, without adequate lagging and without increasing the width of the condensate pipe.  When the boiler 'senses' a blockage in the pipe, caused by the frozen condensate, it shuts down to protect itself from damage.

Even the best installations were susceptible to freezing in the arctic conditions we experienced last year.  So the Multifit Trace Heating Kit provides a reliable, low cost solution.  It applies 10 Watts of trace heating to prevent freezing without wasting energy; it switches on when the temperature drops below three degrees and switches off when the temperature rises above three degrees again.

It can wire to the boiler fused spur or connect via a three Amp plug and complies with 17th Edition wiring regulations.  The kit comes with everything needed for a complete installation, including RCD, fixings, indicator lights and warning labels.

Multifit Trace Heating Kits are available from heating and plumbing merchants across the UK.
